Not far from Justin's college, there is a gorge with waterfalls and hiking trails and a lake. Last month, we decided to take a Friday afternoon and go hike a little. In the morning, Addyson had her two year check up with her new doctor and got two shots. We were a little worried about how she would do, but she did fantastic! It was gorgeous! We hiked down over 300 steps (it's very natural but there are stairs to take you down to the gorge) to a swinging bridge. It overlooked a big waterfall that was very pretty. Then, we kept going down another 200 or so stairs to the bottom! Justin carried Addyson, Fleetwood carried Logan, and I carried Riley in my tummy! :) (My sister, Kim, was out of town, so we invited our brother in law, Fleetwood and Logan, our niece to go along!) You can also REALLY hike and go through the water and over rocks.... but we definitely weren't doing that with toddlers and a pregnant lady. After we admired the view for a while we headed back up. Addyson climbed over 500 stairs all by herself!!! We were amazed she didn't want Justin to hold her some of the way--it must have been her little Keen hiking shoes! hahaha I, on the other hand, took plenty of time getting back up them. Walking down was easy--walking up, not so much! It about killed me! After hiking, we went to the lake and had a wonderful picnic and watched the girls play in the sand!
